Coming up: Our Election '22 Buckfield voter guide

The November 2022 elections are coming fast! To help you prepare to vote on November 8th, in the coming days we will share neutral, nonpartisan information about each of the races and ballots Buckfield voters will be weighing in on.

We will begin with the state ballot (take a look at it here) and move through the regional races in the order that they appear on the ballot, beginning with the Maine Senate. Then we will review each of the separate municipal ballots you will also need to weigh in on.

Absentee voting is easy! Anyone can vote absentee in Maine; you do not need a reason to do so. Request your ballot anytime now at this link and return it before the polls close on Election Day, November 8th. You can also request your ballot in-person at the Buckfield Town Office, fill it out and return it right there (this is often called "early in-person voting").

If you are not interested in voting for any of the candidates on the ballot, you can always write a name in OR leave it blank and therefore decline to vote in that particular race. We hope this guide helps you be as informed as possible heading to the polls.

A note on redistricting: Following the 2020 census, congressional and state legislative districts around the country were re-drawn to accommodate changes in population. As a result, Buckfield’s state Senate and state House districts will change beginning with this election (more on that later in this series). For more about the redistricting, see this link or look at the full redistricting report here.

Check back in the coming days as we introduce each elected position, its candidates, and how you can learn more.
