What movie, documentary film or TV show completely changed your perspective?

Recently, our team members discussed titles that especially changed our thinking regarding racial justice and equity in the United States. We will highlight some of them this week.

When They See Us

When They See Us is a four-part miniseries dramatizing the story of the Central Park Five. On April 20, 1989, jogger Trisha Meili was found in the North Woods of Central Park tied, gagged, raped, and brutally beaten. Teenagers Korey Wise (16 at the time), Kevin Richardson (14), Raymond Santana (14), Antron McCray (15), and Yusef Salaam (15) were arrested, tried and falsely convicted in connection with the case. The teens served time ranging from 6-13 years until DNA evidence led to their sentences being vacated in December of 2002.
